While the blog post I wrote a couple months ago called ‘Part 1: Adulting is Hard’ contained a decent amount of self-deprecation and light-hearted satire, I was actually feeling very overwhelmed by my new lifestyle.
Nope, lifestyle isn’t the word for it… I was feeling very overwhelmed by the prospect of being wholly responsible for my own failings, mediocrities, and successes. I was realizing for the first time that my life is truly all up to me and what I make of it.
In truth, I was anxious about surviving without the safety net I’d had supporting me for the past 23 years. I wondered if I could even function without its presence.
